To the Activists, Dreamers, Healers, Protectors, Peacemakers, Change makers, and Truth seekers:

This is a call for young adults (18-24) in the Mountain View/Los Altos area & surrounding bay area. Soulforce Leadership is hosting an overnight weekend retreat for young local leaders to connect with and honor their inner voice, build community with other diverse leaders, and identify intentions or offerings they may want to make locally to disrupt injustice with love & nonviolence.

We are particularly interested in exploring themes around belonging & our sense of home, raising the local issue around housing in our area.

The workshops will be highly experiential & transformative, and will integrate and align the heart, mind, body, and soul. We will draw from frameworks of Kingian/Gandhian Nonviolence, Theater of the Oppressed,  & practices of inner transformation, such as mindfulness, compassion, & spirituality.

The retreat will take place at the Hidden Villa Hostel from January 26th (5pm) to January 28th (5pm). There will be 15-18 spots and we'll select participants to ensure that there is sufficient diversity in the cohort.

To attend this free retreat, please submit an interest form & engage in a 30-min phone interest call or attend a group interest meet-up (TBD).

Facilitators, hosts, and guest speakers are leaders of color, white allies, youth leaders, elders, and those engaged in disruptive work professionally and personally.

There will be opportunities for this young adult circle to define how they may want to continue operating as a circle, as well as how they might want to plug into ongoing Soulforce Leadership circles afterwards & other circles working in this space.

There will be an opportunity to donate to future circles & pay it forward for future sessions if there is interest to do more of these.

“The true focus of revolutionary change is never merely the oppressive situations that we seek to escape, but that piece of the oppressor which is planted deep within each of us.”
